How to set wallpaper on macOS devices

Customizing the desktop wallpaper on managed devices is a great way to reinforce corporate branding. With Applivery, administrators can easily configure the wallpaper on all enrolled macOS devices, ensuring that each device reflects the company logo or any corporate image of your choice.

Prerequisites #

  • Ensure that the macOS devices are enrolled in Applivery.
  • The image you wish to use as wallpaper must be in .jpg or .png format.

Configuration steps #

Step 1 - Upload the image: #

  • Log in to the Applivery admin panel.
  • Navigate to Assets > Images.
  • Upload the image you want to set as wallpaper in .jpg or .png format.

Step 2 - Modify the policy #

  • Once the image is uploaded, modify the relevant policy to deploy the wallpaper to the devices.
  • Enter the policy section and select the policy you wish to modify or create a new one.
  • Load the uploaded asset and specify the path where you want to deploy it.

We recommend applying the configuration to all users and using the default path to ensure that the wallpaper is uniformly applied across the system.

Step 3 - Desktop configuration #

  • Within the policy, select the Desktop configuration option.
  • Add the path you configured in the previous step, where the uploaded image is stored.

Optionally, you can lock the option to prevent users from changing the wallpaper.

Step 4 - Deploy the policy #

After making all necessary configurations, save the changes. Click on Save and Deploy to apply the new wallpaper to all selected macOS devices.

What happens on the device? #

Once the policy is applied, the wallpaper on the macOS device will change according to the configurations you specified. All users on the device will see the new wallpaper, and if the option is locked, they won’t be able to modify it. This ensures that all managed devices maintain a consistent appearance aligned with your corporate identity.
